FAQs
Below are frequently asked questions about my process and services. If you don't find the answers you’re looking for feel free to reach out directly.
General
Yes! For most packages, payments are split into two parts, with a 50% non-refundable deposit required upfront. For projects over $7K, a 34% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. The remaining payments are spread over two months. The project must be paid in full before completion and ownership transfer. If you need a different payment plan, just ask.
No, all deposits are non-refundable as they secure your spot in the queue. I book projects several months in advance to ensure each client receives the time and attention their project deserves. If you back out, it may leave an empty spot that could have been given to another client. The deposits ensure clients are committed to moving forward.
Yes, booking in advance is advisable. I often book out 1–2 months in advance, so I recommend getting in touch at least eight weeks before your deadline. The sooner, the better!
If you pay your deposit but don’t have your content ready, you will be bumped to the next available spot and required to pay a rescheduling fee to re-book your project.
We start with an in-depth questionnaire and briefing process to ensure we’re on the same page. Usually, two rounds of refinement are plenty. If you’re still not happy after two rounds, I will continue the refinement process at my current hourly rate.
Branding
Much more than a logo, your branding needs to encompass the essence of your brand. This includes your brand’s mission, voice, values, personality, unique value proposition and positioning.
Your branding allows you to connect with your target audience, stand out from your competitors, build trust and become memorable. Good branding will drive more clients to your business.
Your Brand Guidelines will include a breakdown of your brand identity, logo and variations, colour palette, font pairings and hierarchy, graphic elements, and examples of your brand in context. This is useful for you and anyone working on your brand.
Together we will take a deep dive into your business to discover your unique story, vision and offering. It also includes research on what your competitors are doing and how you differ from them. This is followed by visual research and exploration to find a unique solution.
Before branding projects begin, I need your completed design questionnaire, a solid idea of your target audience, business mission, products/services, styles you like, and your business name.
I provide you with a full range of file types to support your branding needs. If you need the original design files, they can be provided for a fee.
Packaging
Yes. I regularly work with brands to extend, refine, or update existing packaging ranges — whether that’s adding new SKUs, refreshing layouts, or ensuring consistency across an evolving product line.
If I’ve previously designed your packaging, this process is usually very straightforward. For existing packaging created elsewhere, I’ll first review the current designs and files to ensure any updates align with your brand and meet print requirements.
Packaging extensions and updates are scoped based on what’s needed and can be completed as a standalone project or through ongoing design support, depending on the scale of work.
No, this is done by the manufacturer or printer. They are the experts in constructing your packaging and protecting the product inside. Your manufacturer or printer will need to supply the final dieline for the artwork to be applied.
For a fee I can liaise with printers for quotes, dielines and press passes. I do not provide printing services but can recommend print companies I have worked with before, depending on your needs.
I stay up-to-date with the latest industry regulations and ensure all designs meet relevant compliance standards. I recommend legal or regulatory experts if needed, so you can feel confident your packaging is both beautiful and compliant.
Websites
This depends on your needs and the type of website you’re creating.
Service-based websites are typically built on WordPress using Elementor, while eCommerce websites are built using Shopify or WooCommerce.
I specialise in these platforms because they offer flexibility, scalability, and ease of use. I’ll guide you toward the option that best supports your business goals and level of confidence managing the site yourself.
Yes. All websites are designed to be fully responsive, meaning they work seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Mobile usability is considered from the outset, not added as an afterthought.
Yes. Whether your site is built on WordPress or Shopify, you’ll be able to make updates without needing any coding skills.
Both platforms offer user-friendly interfaces, so you or your team can confidently manage content, products, and pages.
Once your website is live, ongoing care helps keep things secure, updated, and running smoothly.
I offer Website Care Plans for clients who’d like continued support after launch. These are optional and can be added at any time.
Yes. All website packages include a foundational on-page SEO setup, such as page titles, meta descriptions, alt text, and clean site structure.
This setup supports good website hygiene and discoverability but does not include ongoing SEO management or content strategy.
Website copywriting isn’t included as standard. If you’re writing your own copy, I’ll share my Content Blueprint to guide you through creating clear, effective website content.
If you’d like additional support, I’m happy to recommend a trusted copywriter or photographer to help bring your content to life.
Yes — all website content (copy and imagery) must be ready by our agreed start date.
Delays in content delivery may result in the project being rescheduled or a restart fee being applied.
You’ll need to purchase your own domain name and provide access during the build. I recommend Namecheap as an affordable and reliable option.
WordPress websites include 3 months of complimentary hosting and updates via my Website Care Plan. After this period, I recommend moving onto an ongoing Care Plan if you’d like continued support.
Shopify websites are hosted directly by Shopify, with hosting managed through your Shopify subscription.
Yes, there are a few potential costs to keep in mind:
- Plugin renewals
After the first year, you’ll need to renew your Elementor Pro licence, along with any other paid plugins used on your website. - Hosting
WordPress websites include 3 months of complimentary hosting and updates. If you’re not on one of my Website Care Plans, you’ll need to arrange ongoing hosting after this period. - Shopify subscription
Shopify websites require an ongoing subscription, which is paid directly to Shopify and varies depending on the plan you choose. - Shopify theme (if applicable)
Some Shopify projects use a paid theme, which is purchased separately. I’ll always discuss this with you in advance and only recommend a paid theme where it adds real value.
I’ll always be upfront about any additional costs so there are no surprises.
VIP Design Day
Absolutely! I work with clients from around the world, so no matter where you’re based or what time zone you’re in, I’ll do my best to accommodate your daylight and working hours. We can even split the day if that works better for you.
I’ll spend the entire working day designing and completing the tasks we’ve discussed. I’ll only need your feedback once via email, and then you can be on standby for any clarifications or confirmations if needed.
Before booking your VIP Day, we’ll have a chat to ensure the scope of work fits into the 8-hour timeframe. If it seems like the tasks won’t quite fit, I’ll offer you a second VIP Day to ensure we can complete everything.
To make the most of our VIP Day, it’s essential that you complete the required prep work and provide all necessary content (e.g. photography, copy) in advance. Please share your files via Google Drive or Dropbox at least 48 hours before our day.
If the required content isn’t ready by then, your VIP Day will need to be rescheduled. This may result in a $500 restart fee if the new date is not rebooked within 90 days of the original booking.
Definitely! I prioritise custom design and will never compromise quality for speed. I’m transparent about the number of days needed to ensure you receive both fast and fully customised design.
Years of experience have honed my design skills, allowing me to work quickly and efficiently. By focusing solely on your tasks during our dedicated design day, we’ll accomplish more than you might expect.
If you’re feeling unwell or face an emergency on the day of your VIP Design Day, please let me know as soon as possible. We can reschedule your project, but it will be placed back in the queue, which may delay your new date.
For non-emergency rescheduling, you can request a new date with at least 7 days’ written notice. Your VIP Day booking is valid for 90 days from the original booking date. If the VIP Day does not occur within this timeframe, or if no rescheduling request is made at least 7 days in advance, a $500 restart fee will apply to schedule a new date. The remaining balance from your original payment will be credited toward your rescheduled VIP Day at the current rate, which may differ from the original booking rate.
